In an interesting article in Information World Review, David Tebbutt asks whether excessive use of filtering software and feeds could result in Internet users only ever reading things which agree with their viewpoints. He recognises the need to impose some order on the huge volume of information thrown at us, but worries that we could become confirmed in our prejudices and end up stale and unimaginative.
He proposes a couple of solutions: RandomWebsite.com which, as the name suggests, links you to random websites (although I would advise caution with this) and Stumble Upon - a toolbar which can learn about your interests from the websites you visit and your views of them, and then suggest new sites which might interest you.
Just a couple of ways to keep that creativity alive?
