Yet another posting about Twitter - this time to draw your attention to a report in the Times Higher Education Magazine which suggests that Twitter can play a role in higher attainment A research study in the US assessed the impact of using Twitter as a teaching tool. Academics used Twitter:
"to communicate with students and to begin discussions within the groups on books and topics that might not have been fully explored in class. They also provided individual support, answering questions and offering reminders and encouragement when they saw that students were struggling." One of the key benefits of Twitter was seen as its ability to be synchronous and asynchronous at the same time.
