Google lawsuit

So Google executives have been convicted in Italy of a violation of privacy after a video was posted to Google video showing an autistic teenager being bullied. The verdict is being widely disputed around the world as it could have significant ramifications for any web service which allows the public to put content online. The chief legal officer at Google, commenting on the case, said "If individuals like myself and my Google colleagues who had nothing to do with the harassing incident, its filming or its uploading onto Google Video can be held criminally liable solely by virtue of our position at Google, every employee of any internet hosting service faces similar liability"

This article in the New York Times considers the consequences of the verdict further. What do you think?
