Library of Congress acquires Twitter archive

The Library of Congress in the USA has acquired the entire Twitter archive - every public tweet that has been made since Twitter was founded will be stored digitally as part of the Library's digital preservation program. That's a lot of information.... and amongst the more trivial tweets will be some with a lot of historical significance.
