The Internet Safety Technical Task Force

The US Internet Safety Technical Task Force has published its final report. The Task Force was a group of interested parties from business and the community who joined together to look into ways in which a safer environment can be created online for young people. Interestingly the report suggests that the threats faced by young people online are similar to the threats they face offline, and that young people engaging in risky online or offline behaviour are far more likely to encounter difficult circumstances. Cyber-bullying was highlighted as the most frequent threat faced by young people online. This blog post highlights some of the key issues and provides links to some news reports and commentary on the report.
