A new report from the British Library and JISC claims that the younger "Google" generation are not actually the most competent at using the Internet. It suggests that "although young people demonstrate an ease and familiarity with computers, they rely on the most basic search tools and do not possess the critical and analytical skills to asses the information that they find on the web".
Moreover, the report suggests that all age-groups, from school-age to professors, are increasingly impatient in their research, with no tolerance for any delay in meeting their information needs.
